OWWA Scholarship 2026: Requirements & How to Apply

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is now accepting online applications for its OWWA scholarship programs for qualified dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) for Academic Year 2026-2027.

OWWA Scholarship Programs 2026

OWWA offers three scholarship programs for qualified OFW dependents and migrant workers:

  • Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP);
  • OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP); and
  • Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP).

Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)

The EDSP provides a maximum of ₱60,000 per school year until the completion of a four- or five-year baccalaureate course. The program has two categories:

  • EDSP Category 1 – for incoming first-year college students (top 1,000 qualifiers determined through DOST national examinations); and
  • EDSP Category 2 – for students already enrolled in 2nd to 5th year college (600 slots available).

What are the qualifications for EDSP Category 1?

  • Must be a child of an active OWWA member, or a sibling of a single or married but childless active OWWA member;
  • Must have no availment of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other members of the OFW family;
  • Must be single and not more than 21 years old;
  • Must be a Grade 12 graduating student; and
  • Must have a GWA of 80% or its equivalent.

What are the qualifications for EDSP Category 2?

  • Must be a child of an active OWWA member, or a sibling of a single or married but childless active OWWA member;
  • Must have no availment of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other members of the OFW family;
  • Must be single and not more than 30 years old;
  • Must have a GWA of at least 85% or its equivalent with no failing grades; and
  • Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college or university.

OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)

The ODSP provides financial assistance of ₱20,000 per school year to qualified dependents of OFWs enrolled in any four- or five-year baccalaureate course or associate course in any Philippine-based college or university.

What are the qualifications for ODSP Category 1 (Incoming 1st Year)?

  • Must be a child or sibling of an active OFW member;
  • Must be single and not more than 21 years old;
  • Must have a passing GWA from the previous school year;
  • Must have a monthly OFW income of not more than USD 1,000 or its equivalent; and
  • Must have no availment of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other members of the OFW family.

What are the qualifications for ODSP Category 2 (2nd to 5th Year)?

  • Must be a child or sibling of an active OFW member;
  • Must be single and not more than 30 years old;
  • Must have a passing GWA from the previous school year; and
  • Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college or university.

Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)

The CMWSP provides a maximum of ₱60,000 per school year until the completion of a four- or five-year baccalaureate course in priority fields in Science and Technology.

What are the qualifications?

  • Must be a deserving migrant worker (active OFW) not more than 45 years old, or a child of an active or inactive OFW below 21 years old;
  • Must have a GWA of 80% without failing grades or be within the top 20% of the graduating class (for children of OFWs);
  • Must have an annual family gross income of $2,400 or ₱76,000; and
  • Must have no availment of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other members of the OFW family.

What are the requirements?

The following documentary requirements apply to all scholarship programs:

  • Copy of valid OFW Passport Bio or Info Page;
  • Valid School ID or any available valid ID of the dependent;
  • Birth Certificate or Baptismal Certificate of the dependent;
  • Proof of grades from the previous school year (Form 137, Form 10 or TOR, Form 138 or Report Card, or Certificate of Grades); and
  • 2×2 ID picture of the OFW’s dependent with white background, name tag, and signature of the applicant.

Note: For students who cannot present current or previous semester grades, grades within the last two (2) school years may be considered as reference.

How to apply for the OWWA Scholarship 2026

Make sure to prepare all the required documents before applying. Then, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Go to the official OWWA Scholarship Online Application portal at: https://scholarship.owwa.gov.ph/

Step 2: Select your OWWA Regional Office from the list and click Proceed.

Step 3: Read and confirm the terms and conditions, then click “Yes” to continue.

Step 4: Enter your active mobile number and complete the CAPTCHA verification. Select either SMS or email to receive your OTP, then click Send OTP.

Step 5: Complete the online application form and upload all required documentary requirements.

Note: Use a valid and working email address. Do not make multiple applications as this may affect the verification and evaluation of your application. Make sure to have a stable internet connection throughout the process.

Application Period

The application period for the OWWA Scholarship Programs 2026 is as follows:

  • EDSP Category 1 and CMWSP – September 7 to 17, 2026; and
  • EDSP Category 2 and ODSP – September 7 to 27, 2026.
